Using Foamcore

Folding With Boxboard

Using boxboard with a thickness of approximately 1 - 2mm I can begin to work out where the pattern will need to be scored and lines carved out for different kinds of folds.

Folding With Paper

Mucking around with paper I cut up pieces that measured 180 x 120mm - 1:10 scale of the sheet of Xanita board allowed for each finished chair to ensure that my design would fit within the brief. Ideally pasteboard with a thickness of 1mm would be an exact scale but at this point I just wanted to experiment with folding and making shapes.
